Early Life and Background

Ron Awadis, popularly known as Papa Rug, was born on February 16, 1968, in Iraq. Of Chaldean Assyrian descent, he later relocated to San Diego, California, seeking a better life for his family. In the early 1990s, Ron married Sana Awadis, affectionately known as Mama Rug. Together, they have two sons: Brandon Awadis (Brawadis), a sports enthusiast and YouTuber, and Brian Awadis (FaZe Rug), a prominent figure in the gaming community and co-owner of FaZe Clan. 

YouTube Journey

Initially appearing in their sons' videos, Ron and Sana gained popularity among viewers, leading them to launch their own YouTube channel, "Mama Rug and Papa Rug," on January 12, 2017. The channel features a variety of content, including family vlogs, challenges, pranks, and personal stories. Their authentic and relatable content has resonated with audiences, amassing over 1.6 million subscribers.

Personal Life and Interests

Beyond YouTube, Ron is a successful entrepreneur, owning a carpet business—a nod to which is reflected in the "Rug" moniker adopted by the family. He is a trained basketball player and has shared his passion for the sport through various videos. Ron is also a car enthusiast, with a notable collection that includes a customized Mercedes. A pet lover, he often features the family's English Bulldog, Bosley, in their videos.
